Quality Assurance / Testing
Quality control
All our video footage conforms to ITU 601 (for SD) and ITU 709 (for HD) standards. Our video cameras conform to BBC broadcast guidelines.
All footage is error checked using a Tektronix WFM5000 to maintain broadcast specification. The post production pipeline is based around a single HDSDI 4:2:2 with all monitors calibrated to Rec 709 for HD and Rec 601 for SD. All footage is graded using the Tektronix WFM5000 to ensure Luma and Chroma levels are broadcast-legal.
All final edits are quality checked by two key people prior to release.
Testing procedures
Online
The file is uploaded and test viewed using Safari, Mozilla, Internet Explorer, Opera and Chrome to check compatibility.
Download speed is checked and where necessary different bitrate and frame sizes are offered. We can liaise with your web team to determine correct options for format, bitrate and frame size.
DVD
All DVDs are authored using custom settings to guarantee the best possible picture quality. DVDs are tested using three different players:
- a low end consumer player
- a high end consumer player
- a high end Blu-ray player.
DVDs are also viewed on both CRT and plasma TVs to check consistency as well as motion artefacts. All DVDs are checked on PC and Mac machines and tested prior to despatch.
Much research has been invested in building these services. Leagus and its clients are consistently happy with the optimum results that we deliver.
